Policies

Pricing, Rebates & Policies.

NDIS Pricing Update | In view of the decision of the NDIA to reduce the rates they pay to many allied health providers, the CHA directors have regrettably been forced to review our policies on billing NDIS participants. As NDIS allied health rates will no longer cover the cost of our services, effective from July 1st when the NDIA changes come into force, CHA will require all clients to pay for their treatment on the day of the consultation at the same rate as private clients (available on our website and online booking page).

Invoices will be provided to allow clients to submit claims for reimbursement to either their Plan Manager (plan managed NDIS participants), or their NDIS app or myspace portal (self managed participants). Current information suggests that any reimbursement will be at the NDIA rates, leaving an out of pocket gap for all NDIS participants.

As an organisation dedicated to improving access to care for the Connective Tissue Disorders (CTD) population, we understand that this change may cause a degree of distress for some NDIS participants and sincerely wish we could avoid this. We have a responsibility, however, to maintain a viable service for the broader CTD population, and cannot do this while absorbing income cuts in parallel to rising costs of service provision. We are monitoring and actively participating in the advocacy efforts that are ongoing in this space and sincerely hope that the NDIA's decision will be overturned to minimise barriers to accessing effective care for patients already experiencing significant challenges in this area. Should this occur, we will endeavour to keep you updated on the changes.

Teaching Clinic

CHA is a teaching clinic.

As part of our larger vision to improve the health journey of individuals with Hypermobility conditions, â€‹we may occasionally have researchers, clinicians, or students ask to sit in on your consultation. These individuals are strictly there to learn and will not participate in or disrupt the session in any way. You are always welcome to decline or ask them to step outside or leave at any time. Your comfort and privacy are our top priority.

CHA is a research clinic.

At CHA, contributing to research is a core way we give back to the Hypermobile community. We’re fortunate to have a dedicated Research and Development team with lived experience, working alongside our clinicians to generate meaningful insights. These findings help shape policymaking, inform individual management strategies, enhance clinician education, and more. Occasionally, we may use de-identified data for analysis and submission to peer-reviewed journals. You’ll have the option to opt-out of this when you onboard with our clinic.
